S.T.E.A.M. & Sports Summer Camp
We're running a S.T.E.A.M. & Sports combo camp at the West Family YMCA!
At the YMCA of Broome County, we’re dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience where kids can have a blast, discover new passions, and build lifelong skills. This summer, our Combo Camp offers the perfect blend of exciting S.T.E.A.M. activities and dynamic sports programming, providing kids with a unique opportunity to learn and play in a fun, supportive environment.
Throughout the camp, children will engage in hands-on problem-solving challenges, develop teamwork skills, and build confidence as they explore the world of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Meanwhile, they’ll also stay active and energized with a variety of sports like basketball, soccer, and other fun physical activities designed to improve coordination, agility, and teamwork.
Our mission is to foster an adventurous and inclusive atmosphere where kids can forge new friendships, grow in their abilities, and create memories that will last far beyond the summer. Let’s make this summer one to remember — full of fun, learning, and endless possibilities!
Dates & Times:
- June 23 - August 29, 2025
- Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Free care before camp is available from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., and after camp from 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- There is no camp on Friday, July 4, 2025.

Rates:
- Members: $250
- Non-Members: $373
Registration also requires a non-refundable deposit of $30 for each week of camp you wish to register for. Deposits are applied to camp fees.
Camp fees may be paid by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
**DSS Subsidy: Parents receiving the DSS childcare subsidy will need to contact Dan Smith directly at (607) 772-0560 ext. 115 to register.

WORLD CUP SOCCER & OUT OF THIS WORLD
"Kick it like a pro and show off your soccer skills in this international showdown! Then blast off into adventure—build rockets, explore the solar system, and uncover the mysteries of the moon in our out-of-this-world space week!"
Week 4 - July 14 - July 18
DON’T GET PICKLED & PLANET EARTH
"Get ready to “dink” and “volley” your way to a fun summer with Pickleball. Then discover the power of Planet Earth—explore rocks, shape landforms, and uncover the forces behind weathering in this hands-on geology adventure!"

FLAG FOOTBALL & ANIMAL SAFARI
"Learn how to pass, catch, run, and show us your best touchdown dance with our new flag football camp. Then embark on an animal adventure—explore habitats, discover the world of bugs and bees, and unlock nature’s secrets!"
Week 6 - July 28 - August 1
WARRIOR GAMES & SURVIVAL ISLAND
"Test your survival skills with a series of obstacles and challenge courses. Then, escape to Survival Island where you’ll design tools, test your skills in a survival challenge, and build your own shelter in this action packed adventure!"
Week 7 - August 4 - August 8
FIELD DAYS & BOARD GAME BONANZA
"Get ready for some field day fun—corn hole, can jam, ultimate frisbee, and more. Then roll the dice for a Board Game Bonanza—learn the classics, play jumbo-sized favorites, and create your own epic games!"
Week 8 - August 11 - August 15
SWING FOR THE FENCES & MAD SCIENCE
"Step up to the plate, dig in and swing batter, batter swing! Then unleash your inner scientist—make slime, experiment with chemical reactions, and discover the fun of hands-on learning!"
Week 9 - August 18 - August 22
ANCIENT GAMES & TIME TRAVELERS
"Olympians participate in thrilling athletic contests, strategic games and fascinating traditions that defined ancient civilizations. Then travel through time—reinvent old inventions, tackle engineering challenges, and design your own futuristic city."
Week 10 - August 25 - August 29
GRAB BAG & SUMMER BLAST
"Enjoy a variety of sports. Then bring summer to a close with all your favorite classic camp activities—tie-dye, sand art, and an epic water balloon fight to cap off the fun!"

- (Campers must have completed Kindergarten in order to register.)
