Financial Assistance

The Y is committed to helping everyone achieve their potential. The YMCA of Broome County provides financial assistance to children, adults and families who cannot afford to pay for the full cost of a YMCA program or membership. Please download a confidential financial assistance application or visit the front desk of either branch to apply.

Apply for Assistance

Eligibility

Financial assistance is available to anyone based on family income, number of household members and the availability of Y funds. Funds can be used for membership and/or program fees, including after-school care, summer day camp and programs for which additional fees apply, such as sports or aquatics. All Y members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of scholarship assistance.

How to Apply

Complete a membership application and the financial assistance form. Applications are available at the Welcome Center or can also be downloaded here.  Bring your completed membership application to the Welcome Desk to be processed.

Support From Our Neighbors

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to make the Y accessible through our Financial Assistance Program. Funds raised from the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, Resolution Run, Corporate Challenge and Golf Tournament are allocated to children and families in need, ensuring that no one is ever turned away for an inability to pay.
