Summer Camp was AMAZING!

When Jen Kowalski found herself in need of a last-minute summer solution for her four children, Dan Smith, the YMCA Summer Camp Director, sprang into action! “Dan was fantastic to work with!” Jen exclaims. After her previous plans fell through, she needed to enroll her four school-aged kids in the YMCA of Broome County’s summer camp program just days before it started, and Dan stepped up with a fun and professional demeanor. He assured Jen that he was eager to get the kids ready for camp, even with the limited time available. Jen remarked, “He (Dan) kept reassuring me that my kids would fit right in and make new friends…”

Her children were thrilled about this new adventure and couldn't contain their excitement on the first day of camp! Jen perfectly encapsulated the experience when she noted, “Their happiness during our conversations on the way home after pick-up confirmed that I made the right choice amid the unexpected change. The friendships they formed, which we look forward to nurturing even after the summer program ends, will always be a cherished memory for us.
