What to Expect When You Visit the Y

PHASE 2 Reopening Guidelines:

Members who are considered to be part of a vulnerable population will be discouraged from entering the facility. Any members who have traveled to any of the states requiring quarantine, or who do not feel well are asked to not enter the facility for 14 days. Additional facility and operation changes are outlined below. 

Member Protection

  • Members are required to complete a NYS mandatory screening questionnaire describing their current health and possible contact with COVID+ persons. Those answering yes will be deemed to be at-risk will not be allowed to access the facility.
  • Members are required by NYS to wear CDC recommended masks while inside facility (no bandanas, gaiters or buffs while exercising,) but may remove the mask while in the pool.
  • All must sanitize their hands upon entry and before and after workouts.
  • Though we have installed sanitation stations throughout the facility, sanitation may not be the recommended solution for soiled hands. Please thoroughly wash your hands whenever necessary.
  • All members using any fitness equipment will be required to use a provided sanitation spray bottle and towel to wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • Members will be required to adhere to all posted signage regarding distancing and sanitation.

Business Adaptations

  • Reduced operating hours of Mon-Fri 6 am-1 pm/2 pm-7 pm and Sat 9 am-1 pm/2 pm-5 pm. There will be a one hour time block between 1 pm and 2 pm each day to deep clean the facility.
  • Staff to conduct disinfecting of high-touch surfaces and equipment every 2 hours per CDC guidelines.
  • Amenities temporarily not available; sauna, coffee service, group sitting areas, drinking fountains, personal training, child watch.

  • Increased signage throughout the building to mandate directional flow, encourage physical distancing, hand washing and promote cleaning efforts.
