Child Watch

> We are currently not offering child watch due to COVID-19 concerns. We will release updated information as soon as we receive it. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Child Watch gives you the opportunity to leave your children in a clean, caring and safe environment while you work out. Child care providers will make your child's stay fun and entertaining. Parents must remain in the facility while utilizing the Child Watch services and your child's visit is limited to two hours per day. This free service is available for children ages 6 weeks to 12-years-old.

The Child Watch service is for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The Game Room service is for children 5 to 12 years old and both are available while YMCA members are working out in the facility.

Each time your child is dropped off, he or she must be signed in. We also ask that you put where you will be in the building. Please put down your cell phone number in case we have to contact you.

We ask that your child have a snack before or after their visit with us. Drinks and bottles are acceptable but please do your bottle feeding before your workout. Please make sure these are labeled with your child’s first and last name on them.

Each day we will have fun activities scheduled for your child. We allow children to choose which activities they would like to participate in.
Daily activities may include:

  • Crafts
  • Music
  • Puzzles
  • Coloring
  • Organized games
  • Free play
  • Movies
  • Toys

We ask that all children come to child watch with a clean dry diaper. Child Watch services do not include diapering. Child Watch staff will be locating parent/guardian with in the Y facility if the need for diapering arises.

Upset and unhappy children will be given as much attention as possible. If staff are unable to console the child after 10 minutes, the parent/guardian will be asked to return to the center to help comfort the child. We encourage parents/guardians to stay and play with the child as long as needed to help them feel comfortable.

In order to keep a clean and healthy environment for all children and staff, we ask that you do not bring your child to Child Watch if he or she is sick or is displaying any signs of illness. Please do not bring children who have had a fever, rash, or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours. The Child Watch supervisor will make the final determination as to whether a child is able to stay in the event of illness. We have the right to refuse any child displaying signs of illness. If your child begins to display signs of illness after you have left them we will come get you. Thank you for helping to make the Y a safe and healthy place for kids.
