Baseball

Slide into the end of summer with our Youth Baseball program! Children will learn the basics of hitting, base running, fielding, throwing and catching. Concepts of teamwork and fair play are emphasized. The introductory nature of YMCA baseball provides a fun experience for kids at any level. Good sportsmanship and fair play are the core of this program. Program is held on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is an instructional, skill development program. Tee-ball is offered for ages 3 and 4. 

Program Details

Ages: 3 to 12 years old
Dates: August 20-Sept 26

 

T-Ball 

Players will learn to hit the ball off a tee while learning the basic of the game. Participants will learn basic hitting and throwing techniques. (ages 3-4 years)

Modified Coach Pitch 

In a natural progression from hitting off a tee, this program will teach children more hand-eye coordination in developing their hitting strategies. While in the field, players will learn basic positioning and throwing techniques. (ages 5-7 years)

Minor League

Players will learn proper hitting mechanics. At this level participants will be introduced to pitching mechanics and skills, such as how to grip a baseball for the three basic pitches. In the field players will learn proper footwork to control ground balls and make good throws.  (ages 8-12 years)
