Emergency Childcare

Throughout the Y’s history, we have been called upon in times of crisis, conflict, and strife to provide critical services. In light of COVID-19 and the need for childcare for emergency services staff, the YMCA of Broome County is prepared to offer full-day emergency childcare for children up to the age of five years for first responders, military, hospital personnel, and other essential staff that must report to work.

During this program, children will enjoy arts, crafts, games, hands on activities, and supervision from experienced Y staff. We are taking additional precautions in the provision of this service to keep everyone safe. Upon arrival, staff and children will receive a health screen, wash and sanitize hands, and practice social distancing.

Per state law, all parents must provide a signed Health Statement for all children, from a physician before admission. They will also need Proof of Immunizations.

YMCA Childcare operates out of our Binghamton branch located at 61 Susquehanna Street, Binghamton NY, 13901, from 6:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Monday - Friday. Parents in need of care, or if you have immediate questions, please contact our Childcare Director, Tania Barnes at 607.772.0560 ext. 236.
