The YMCA of Broome County is not just a swim and gym, it’s a community and we are different. When you are a Y member, you are a ‘person’ with a ‘name’, not just a ‘unit of membership’. That’s why when you come to the Y we will personalize your wellness experience and are there to support you every step of the way, for no extra fee! Our wellness instructors are here for you all day everyday to help you reach your goals.

We offer a wide range of programs and classes to get you up and moving, regardless of your current fitness level. From our cardio, resistance machines and free weight equipment, to our gymnasium and heated pool, you can find all of the tools and support you need on your journey to health. If you’d rather work out in a group setting, we offer a variety of fitness classes too. Plus, if you need more guidance and assistance, you can work with one of our certified personal trainers

  • Wellness Orientation — Our Y Wellness Orientation is your first step to designing a customized health and fitness plan for you and your family. New and current members are encouraged to set up a orientation to help identify the right Y resources to meet and exceed your goals.
  • Group Exercise Classes—The Y offers a wide variety of cardio, strength and flexibility classes which are free with membership. Also be sure to check out our Water Fitness.
  • Specialty Health Programs—Maintain health and functional ability with programs designed especially those in need of more support.
  • Fitness Challenges—Take part in challenges and events, all with a focus on health and wellness.
  • Personal Training—Looking for a new challenge or need some additional motivation? Achieve your fitness goals through personalized training sessions and coaching from one of our certified personal trainers.

Do you enjoy a challenge? Challenge yourself to the next level with one of our Fitness challenges. Competition with yourself or other Y members.

One-on-one personal training involves one or more regular training sessions designed to help you achieve your fitness goals. Your certified personal trainer will work with you and your schedule to develop a personalized fitness program.
