SUMMER SWIM LESSONS

Swim lessons at the Y!

Do the warmer temperatures have you thinking about heading to the pool or lake? Ensure your child is safe and has fun around the water this summer with Y swim lessons!

Have you heard, the Y has a new swim lesson curriculum that is geared towards what we know about how children and adults learn and develop? Students begin with and build upon skills they are ready to learn, helping them to celebrate their successes, build self-confidence, enjoy learning to swim, and water safety.

For the student, emphasis is on skill progression and water safety. Parents will now have peace of mind knowing that their child will learn self-rescue skills first, then how to swim.

As students advance, the focus turns to increasing stroke coordination, comfort and endurance. Once the students have built strength and endurance, they will master familiar strokes, such as elementary backstroke, front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.


Y swim instructors are nationally cerified. Their training includes CPR, AED, First Aid and Oxygen Administration. 


Swim ONCE a week for 4 weeks

Session 1: June 26– July 27 (no lessons July 4th)
Session 2: July 24th -August 19

Swim TWICE a week for 2 weeks

Session 1: June 26– July 6 (no lessons July 4th)
Session 2: July 10– July 20
Session 3: July 24– August 3
Session 4: August 7– August 17

Offsite Swim Lessons

Highland Park, Conklin Town Pool

Mondays- Thursdays (no class on Fridays)
